Exciting Improvements Coming to Shreve:
Major Funding for Wastewater Treatment Plant System
Shreve, OH - We are thrilled to announce that our village has been awarded $1,750,000 from the One-Time Strategic Community Investment Fund (OTSCIF) for critical improvements to our wastewater treatment plant system. This generous funding was announced by State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) as part of a significant investment in local community projects.
Project Details:
The awarded funds will be used to replace the deteriorated trickling filter at our wastewater treatment plant with a modern aeration tank. This upgrade is essential for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our wastewater treatment system, ensuring a healthier and safer environment for all Shreve residents.

Key Efforts and Collaborations:
A crucial meeting was held to discuss the urgent need for replacing the trickling filter with a more sustainable aeration system. Senator Al Landis graciously attended this meeting in person, visiting the Shreve Wastewater Treatment Plant to witness firsthand the disrepair and desperate nature of the situation. The collaboration and support from various key individuals and organizations were instrumental in securing this funding.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Planning & Grant Administrator Joan Zimmerly, whose exceptional grant writing and planning skills were pivotal in the successful submission and timely completion of the necessary paperwork and documentation. Joan's decades of successful experience in Holmes County, Ohio, were invaluable in this process.

Next Steps:
We will be working closely with engineers and contractors to begin the project as soon as possible. Updates on the project's progress will be shared regularly to keep our residents informed. This funding will go towards the total project cost of between $2.3 - $2.5 million.
