Hydrant Flushing in Progress (Sept. 24–26, 2025)
The Village of Shreve Water Department began routine fire hydrant flushing at 4:00 AM today (Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025). Crews will continue flushing daily from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM through Friday, Sept. 26, and the work will be completed by Friday afternoon.
As a reminder, advance notice signage was posted at the Armory one week prior to the scheduled flushing dates.
When is flushing happening?
Daily 4:00 AM–2:00 PM, Wednesday, Sept. 24–Friday, Sept. 26, 2025.
Why is my water discolored?
Sediment is disturbed during flushing. It should clear shortly—run cold water until clear.
Is the water safe?
Yes. Discoloration during flushing is a cosmetic issue. If in doubt, let it run clear before use.

Public Notice – Road Closure Update | Village of Shreve This is an update to the March 14 notice regarding road closures due to storm damage and downed utility lines. The majority of previously affected roads have been reopened. Wells Street remains closed at this time while AEP Ohio and Brightspeed continue repair work on the damaged utility pole. Residents and motorists are asked to continue avoiding Wells Street and to use alternate routes until further notice.
